L&P Media wins W3 Awards
Two web sites developed by L&P Media have earned Silver Achievement Awards from the 2008 W3 Awards Competition. Entries were judged on: creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design, and ease of use
In collaboration with the NYS Senate, the web sites for all 62 NYS Senators have earned
the 2008 Silver Achievement Award in Government (examples: http://www.nyssenate14.com/ and http://www.senatordeanskelos.org/). Each of the 62 sites is dynamic, modern and state-of-the-art, helping to “personalize” each Senator and provide a communications service to their constituents. Each Senator has the ability to customize the look and content of their web site via L&P’s InteliAdmin™ / Sitefinity™ content management tool without requiring the need for web programming language. The Senate also utilizes the L&P Media InteliSend™ broadcast e-mail tool to proactively communicate to varying demographic groups in their constituency.
In collaboration with the NYS Empire State Development Corporation, New York’s Official Tourism Web Site: http://www.iloveny.com/ earned the 2008 Silver Achievement Award in Tourism. This is the second consecutive year that the I LOVE NY website is recognized by the W3 Awards committee, having earned the 2007 Silver Achievement Award in Tourism. The web site contains many microsites - mini-web sites that contain information specific to a theme, marketing program, event, location, etc. They provide a “landing site” for inquiries generated by the Department’s seasonal and other niche-marketing efforts and enable enhanced tracking of the effectiveness of such efforts. The I LOVE NY web site also assists and complements the work of the various Tourism Promotion Agencies (TPA’s) located throughout New York State.
The winning web sites were selected among more than 2,500 entries to the respective categories in the 2008 awards competition. The W3 is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Conde Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Victoria Secret, Wired, Yahoo! and many others.
